Mobilegeddon

Many website owners are familiar with the term by now. This recent change to Google's search algorithm for mobile users has potential to significantly reduce website traffic to sites that are not mobile-friendly.

However, if you are a Bondware customer running our latest version there is no cause for panic. In fact, this highlights one of the benefits of subscribing to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution like ours. As mentioned in previous newsletters we've been working on our mobile experience for over a year and we are proud to announce that our customers pass the Google mobile friendliness test with flying colors.

In-Module Purchases with Simple Store

Our Classifieds and Directory modules can now be configured to sell listings using the Simple Store. Simple Store is included with Bondware and works with a PayPal account so setup time and costs are minimal. Combine this with the sale of online and print subscriptions through the Simple Store to quickly create a profitable news site.

Site Design: Color Themes

The development team is pleased to announce that color themes can now be saved and easily applied to different templates. This should lead to a better experience when evaluating different templates for your site.

Writers and Bylines

Based on feedback from several customers, we have revisited the notion of writers for content sections. Each writer can have a custom byline and bio on their writer page. We have improved the method of associating writers with individual articles and the manner in which the byline and writer biography is presented. A listing of the writer's most recent articles also appears on the writer's bio page.
